Dr Ning Yu, the head of GreenMark and past chair of the Global Ecolabelling Network, was visiting New Zealand for meetings with the New Zealand Ecolabelling Trust and Government officials.
The meeting with Government officials on 11 November discussed approaches that governments in Asia and New Zealand are taking to Government Green procurement.
Marje Russ is T&T’s Principal responsible for T&T’s services for the New Zealand Ecolabelling Trust. She commented that the 11 November meeting involved a detailed presentation by Dr Yu as well as very useful and open discussions.
A separate meeting was held with Dr Yu at T&T on 12 November. A number of T&T staff involved in Environmental Choice projects attended that meeting, which provided an excellent opportunity to exchange information on approaches to assessments as well as strengthen confidence in the mutual recognition arrangements between the New Zealand and Taiwanese programmes.
T&T’s long term client, The New Zealand Ecolabelling Trust, operates the Environmental Choice New Zealand ecolabel. The label is found on environmentally preferable products in New Zealand’s supermarkets and shops. T&T has developed a large number of standards for Environmental Choice and assesses products against these standards for the Trust.
For more information please contact Marje Russ.
