The Tonkin & Taylor Group is delighted to announce the appointment of two new Managing Directors. These two newly created roles reflect the continuing growth of the wider T&T Group and its increasing international business focus.

Doug Johnson has been appointed Managing Director of T&T Group’s New Zealand operation. Doug’s background is in engineering geology and he has been with Tonkin & Taylor since 1984. Doug has worked on many large civil engineering, mining and quarry projects and his experience includes work throughout New Zealand, United Kingdom, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia and the South Pacific. Prior to Doug’s appointment as Managing Director - New Zealand he was responsible for managing T&T's Geotechnical Group in Auckland.
Tony Kortegast has been appointed Managing Director of T&T Group’s International operation. Tony has more than 30 years of experience in geotechnical, solid waste and heavy civil engineering, his work has covered the whole range of project inputs from concept development, to public and consent processes, and detailed design and construction management. Tony has worked on projects in many countries and has provided specialist services to public and private sector clients as well as Asian Development Bank, World Bank, UNCHS (Habitat), UNDP, NZMfE and NZ Aid.
Tony’s extensive international project experience, together with his engineering design management and reporting skills, is used to support and manage the T&T Group’s operations throughout the Pacific, Australia and Asia through its network of regional offices and associate businesses.
These two appointments follow Peter Millar's retirement from the Managing Director role, having lead Tonkin & Taylor through its 50th year celebrations in 2009. Peter now leads Business Development for the T&T Group in Australasia.
