Staff reunion concludes 50th year celebrations for Tonkin & Taylor

2009 marks 50 years of Tonkin & Taylor - one of New Zealand’s leading environmental and engineering consultancies - and the company has celebrated in style holding a number of events throughout the year.

As the year draws to a close the company held a special ‘50th year weekend’ from 4-7 December to commemorate the end of 50 years and celebrating the start of the next 50!  One of the highlights over the weekend included a special night at the Town Hall on Saturday 5 December where around 400 T&T staff and partners celebrated 50 years in spectacular fashion.  Don Taylor, one of the two founding partners, attended the party and congratulated the company on holding true to its core values of client care, commitment, excellence and team work!

A second highlight of the weekend was the Staff Reunion held on Monday 7 December.  The Reunion function was held at T&T’s offices in Newmarket and was attended by current senior staff and 30 former T&T employees.  It was a wonderful night of reminiscing and catching up with old friends and colleagues.  Peter Millar, T&T’s Managing Director, said 2009 has been an extraordinary year for everyone at T&T.  “This has been a very special year and we complete this era with an excellent understanding of our values, our place as a specialist consultancy and a company that is focussed on developing its people and culture”, he said.
