The Award was presented at Transwaste’s Annual General Meeting on Friday 19 October. T&T’s Director of Environmental Engineering, Tony Kortegast, along with T&T’s Managing Director, Peter Millar, attended the AGM to receive the Award.

Mr Kortegast commented that he was delighted to accept the Award on behalf of T&T. "The Kate Valley project was a real team effort and has been hugely successful, especially in improving the quality of life for the communities within the Canterbury region. The landfill was developed to the highest international standards and includes many innovative features.”

The regional landfill won the prestigious 2007 Gold Award of Excellence from the Association of Consulting Engineers New Zealand and an IPENZ Excellence Award for Infrastructural Utilities and Networks in 2006.
