Tonkin & Taylor has sponsored the ‘T&T Geomechanics Award’ at the Civil Engineering Department at Canterbury University for many years.

Pictured:Eu Ving Au is presented with his award by Gary Smith, T&T's Wellington Group Manager, at a special Award Ceremony on 14 February.

The award, and associated prize, is presented to the most outstanding Geomechanics student in the third/final year of the Bachelor of Engineering programme.

The recipient of the 2007 award is Eu Ving Au.

A special Ceremony was held for Eu Ving in T&T’s Wellington office on Thursday 14 February where Gary Smith, T&T's Wellington Group Manager, presented the award to him. Eu Ving worked as a summer student in T&T’s Wellington office in 2006 and 2007 so is well known to T&T staff.

Eu Ving has a strong interest in Structural and Geotechnical engineering and returns to Canterbury University this year to undertake his Masters degree in Structural Engineering.  We wish him every success!
