The Sibulan Hydropower Project is run-of-river with storage and consists of a cascade of two independent hydro-electric projects with installed capacity of 16.6 MW (upstream scheme) and 26 MW (downstream scheme). EDCOP and T&TI's role in the project includes the initial design review, tender documentation review, pre-construction services, construction supervisory services and post-construction close-out services.
Around 150 people attended the 2-hour Ground Breaking Ceremony, including the Mayor of the Municipality of Sta. Cruz, Mr Joel Ray Lopez, representatives from EDCOP, T&TI and HEDCOR, local residents and school children.
The Ceremony was held in recognition of the significance of the Sibulan Hydropower Project. T&TI's John Grimston, Project Manager for the project, stated that similar ceremonies are held for all significant projects believed to benefit the wider community.
