Wastewater Engineering

Tonkin & Taylor has a history of developing innovative, appropriate and environmentally sensitive solutions for a wide variety of wastewater engineering projects, with particular expertise in small community and institutional wastewater systems. We pride ourselves in our ability to analyse problems with an holistic approach that considers environmental, social and cultural issues, alongside technical issues, while also focussing on using appropriate technology and identifying the best practicable solution.

Our multi-disciplinary specialist team of engineers, scientists and planners provides a wide range of skill sets directly applicable to wastewater projects. Personnel and skills available for wastewater projects include:

  • Aquatic Ecology and Water Quality Scientists
  • Geologists and Hydrogeologists
  • Air Quality Specialists
  • Civil Engineers (including hydraulics specialists).

Typical services that can be provided include:

  • Issues and Options Studies at the inception of a project to assist clients to identify the most appropriate solution for their project
  • Assessment of Effects on the Environment including effects on marine, freshwater and terrestrial ecological, surface water and groundwater quality and air quality
  • Resource Consents including consultation, preparation of an AEE report and consent application and expert evidence. For existing consents services include compliance monitoring and auditing
  • Design of wastewater treatment facilities.
