Vic is the Managing Director of Geotechnics and is a Director of Tonkin & Taylor. He has over 30 years experience in civil engineering testing and instrumentation.

Past projects include Tongariro Power Development, Marsden Point Refinery Expansion, Clyde Dam, Golden Cross Mine (tailings embankment), Manapouri Tailrace Tunnel and the recent Mercer to Longswamp Expressway project. All of these projects included a significant amount of geotechnical testing, instrumentation and monitoring.

Current projects for which Vic is responsible (instrumentation and testing aspects) include Upper Harbour Corridor – S/H 18 (Auckland), Northshore Busway (Auckland), Waihi Gold Tailings Dam (Waihi), Inner City ByPass (Wellington) and S/H1 to S/H20 Link (Manukau). All of these projects include specialist geotechnical testing/instrumentation, automatic data acquisition and electronic data presentation and reporting.

Countries of work experience include the UK, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand and he has worked on and established laboratories on numerous major projects including an oil refinery, gold mines, mass concrete dams, tunnels, landfills and hydro-electric projects.

Vic specialises in quality systems, geotechnical and pavement testing, site laboratory project management, geotechnical instrumentation and is an auditor for International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ)and a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management (NZIM).
