This year Workchoice Day was held on Tuesday 20 May. The aim of Workchoice Day is to provide students with a chance to visit workplaces and gather information about the different professions they’re interested in.

Workchoice Day is organised by the Workchoice Trust (a not-for-profit organisation) and is held annually throughout New Zealand.
Tonkin & Taylor decided to get involved again this year and hosted a number of Year 12 and 13 students from a variety of secondary schools in Auckland, Tauranga, Hamilton and Wellington.
Students were introduced to life at Tonkin & Taylor, including the benefits of working at a consultancy like T&T and a discussion about the wide range of projects that T&T gets involved in, not only throughout New Zealand but also overseas.
The day proved extremely rewarding for both the students and T&T staff involved. Peter Millar, T&T's Managing Director, believes Workchoice Day provides a wonderful opportunity for students to learn more about what consultancies like T&T actually do. "The day was extremely successful and provided a wonderful opportunity to talk with students about the engineering profession in general as well as T&T as an environmental and engineering consultancy", he said.
