Friday, 23 February 2007, was a very important day for EDCOP (the Engineering & Development Corporation of the Philippines) and EDCOP’s retiring Chairman, Mr Jove U. Jovellanos!

Mr Jovellanos, one of the founding members of EDCOP (part of the Tonkin & Taylor Group of Companies), not only turned 90 years young on the 23rd, but it was also his last day of active duty with the Filipino engineering consultancy!
Mr Jovellanos has worked with EDCOP since its formation in 1955 and has an enormous reputation within the engineering industry. Mr Bryan Richards, Tonkin & Taylor International’s Managing Director, commented that Mr Jovellanos’s contribution, both to EDCOP and the wider engineering community in the Philippines, has been absolutely outstanding. Mr Richards went on to say that in recognition of his dedication and major contribution to EDCOP over the last 52 years, Mr Jovellanos has been appointed ‘Chairman Emeritus’ by the Board of Directors.
The celebrations held on 23 February also marked the 52nd Anniversary of EDCOP, along with the consultancy's recent move to new premises in Mandaluyong City. "The new offices were needed to cope with the expanding workbase of the consultancy. EDCOP staff and clients are really enjoying the new offices and location", said Mr Richards
