Kate Valley, Canterbury's regional landfill, recently won a prestigious engineering award!

The landfill, which Tonkin & Taylor designed, has been declared the 2006 New Zealand Engineering Excellence Award winner in the category of 'Infrastructure, Utilities and Networks'.
The landfill was entered by owner Transwaste Canterbury, construction engineers Fulton Hogan and T&T, and was one of 50 finalists for the eight awards presented each year by the Institution of Professional Engineers.
T&T's Solid Waste Group Manager, Mr Tony Kortegast, is delighted with the award, stating that Kate Valley Landfill is 'top of the line' in engineering terms in New Zealand.
