Tonkin & Taylor sponsors Nihotupu Tramline Walk!

Each year Tonkin & Taylor sponsor Oxfam New Zealand's annual Nihotupu Tramline Walk in West Auckland.

This year the event was held on a stunning day on Sunday 11 March and an estimated 1800 people turned up to walk the 6km walk through Auckland’s Waitakere Ranges.  The walk follows part of the ‘Rainforest Express’ tramline from the Upper Nihotupu Dam, including six tunnels, and is a major fundraising event for Oxfam’s Water for Survival Project.

This year the walk raised over $11,000 which will be used to assist Oxfam’s water sanitation programme in the Pacific, bringing essential water services and clean water to over 20,000 people directly and more than 200,000 indirectly. Peter Millar, Tonkin & Taylor’s Managing Director, commented that Tonkin & Taylor is proud to be associated with Oxfam’s ongoing efforts to help overcome poverty through water specific projects.
