Team effort wins Tonkin & Taylor Group major hydro-electric project in the Philippines!

The Engineering & Development Corporation of the Philippines (EDCOP) and Tonkin & Taylor International (T&TI), both part of the Tonkin & Taylor Group of Companies, were recently successful in winning the Project Management consultancy role for the construction of Sibulan Hydro-electric Project in the Philippines!

The project is run-of-river with storage and consists of a cascade of two independent hydro-electric projects with installed capacity of 16.5MW (upstream scheme) and 26 MW (downstream scheme).

Tonkin & Taylor's Mr John Grimston, Project Manger for the project, said the Project Management role includes the initial design review, tender documentation review, pre-construction services, construction supervisory services and post-construction close-out services.

Mr Bryan Richards, T&TI’s Managing Director, commented that the project represents a major addition to both EDCOP and T&TI’s expanding experience base and credentials in hydro-electric engineering. "Winning this project represents a great team effort and we look forward to continuing this through the project implementation phase", he said.
