Mr Terry Kayes, Managing Director of Tonkin & Taylor from 1989 to 2006, was awarded a major IPENZ (Institute of Professional Engineers New Zealand) Award on Thursday 22 March!

The Turner Award is presented each year for outstanding professional commitment to the engineering profession, the wider industry and society in general.
The award was presented to Mr Kayes by the President of IPENZ, Mr Peter Jackson at the annual IPENZ Awards Dinner, held in Auckland on Thursday 22 March. Mr Kayes was nominated for the award by the New Zealand Geotechnical Society.
Mr Peter Millar, Managing Director of Tonkin & Taylor, commented that he was delighted Mr Kayes had won the prestigious award. "The Turner Award recognises Mr Kayes' outstanding contribution to the engineering profession, both locally and internationally, over the last 40 plus years", he said.
Mr Kayes continues to work at Tonkin & Taylor in a management consultancy role at their head office, located in Newmarket, Auckland.
