T&T – Key sponsor of Oxfam NZ's Nihotupu Tramline Walk!

Sunday 9 March 2008 marked the 20th Anniversary of Oxfam New Zealand’s Nihotupu Tramline Walk.  Tonkin & Taylor is one of three principal sponsors, along with Auckland Regional Council and WaterCare.

The 6 km walk follows part of the ‘Rainforest Express’ tramline from the Upper Nihotupu Dam in Auckland’s Waitakere Ranges. The walk is held annually and is a major fundraising event for Oxfam New Zealand.

T&T’s Marketing & Communications Advisor, Pip Hair, commented that T&T is proud to be associated with Oxfam NZ’s ongoing efforts to help overcome poverty through water specific projects.  “The Nihotupu Tramline Walk supports Oxfam NZ’s Water for Survival programme, of which T&T is a Foundation Member.  Money raised is used to assist water sanitation programmes in the Pacific, bringing essential water services and clean water to over 20,000 people directly and more than 200,000 indirectly” she said.
