The team is led by Tonkin & Taylor’s Water Resources Group Manager, John Grimston, and comprises an internationally experienced group of specialists covering Regulatory, Corporate Governance, Renewable Energy, Hydropower, Resettlement, Environmental, Power Planning and Finance.

Mr Grimston commented that the goal of the study is to achieve efficient and reliable electricity services to assist Samoa and end consumers to reduce exposure to global fuel prices by promoting indigenous and renewable energy sources.

A sub-project is the Vaitai Hydropower scheme to be developed on Savai’i to offset diesel generation on the island.
