This year Workchoice Day was held on Tuesday 15 May. The aim of Workchoice Day is to provide students with a chance to visit workplaces and gather information about different professions they’re interested in. Workchoice Day is organised by The Workchoice Trust (a not-for-profit organisation) and is held annually throughout New Zealand.

Tonkin & Taylor’s Auckland office decided to get involved this year and ended up hosting 40 Year 12 students from two Auckland schools – 20 students from St Peters’ College and 20 from Auckland Girls’ Grammar.
Students from both schools were introduced to life at T&T, including the benefits of working at T&T and a discussion about the wide range of projects that T&T gets involved in.
The day proved extremely rewarding for both the students and T&T staff involved and provided a great opportunity to talk about the engineering profession in general as well as T&T as an environmental and engineering consultancy.
Tonkin & Taylor will definitely be taking part in Workchoice Day in 2008!
