ENVIRONMENTAL - NATURAL RESOURCES ENGINEERING
David Bouma

David is a senior civil and environmental engineer with 20 years experience in water resources, civil and environmental engineering projects in 8 countries. Much of this experience has been with Tonkin & Taylor in our Auckland, Christchurch, Hamilton and Kuala Lumpur offices.

David is now Group Manager of our Tauranga office and is a strong proponent of environmentally sustainable design.

Project experience includes investigations, detailed engineering design, construction supervision and project management for various civil and environmental infrastructure projects including stormwater, water supply, sewage, dams and landfills.

David has also been involved with the set-up, management, and review of community development projects in developing countries where the use of appropriate technology in building, water supply and sanitation applications has been paramount.

David holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Agricultural) and Master of Engineering (Environmental Factors), as well as being a Chartered Professional Engineer in New Zealand and on the International Professional Engineer register. He is currently a member of the Natural Resources Engineering Advisory Board at the University of Canterbury School of Engineering, is a Member of the Register of Engineers for Disaster Relief, and won the IPENZ Young Engineer of the year engineering excellence award in 1999.
