Peter is a Director of Tonkin & Taylor with over 16 years consulting experience. Peter’s specialist work area is the management of multi-disciplinary environmental and engineering projects where the focus is the gaining of resource consents for large and technically challenging projects. He also specialises in project management, consent process management and AEE preparation.

Peter’s experience in the field of environmental management is diverse, spanning project areas such as hydro-electricity development, natural hazards management, river control, municipal water supply, wastewater discharge, land development, transport, natural resource management, environmental restoration and enhancement, and stormwater treatment. He has worked on over 70 major assessments of environmental effects and resource consent projects in a range of specialist roles, including the management and co-ordination of multi-disciplinary scientific and engineering teams. Drawing on his experience from engineering projects and with the engineering design process, Peter has developed specialist skills in presenting often complex technical issues in consultative forums.

Peter regularly presents expert RMA evidence on these specialist areas at both Council and Environment Court hearings.
